What you need to make Tillie’s Sardine, Parsley and Cottage Cheese Cookies …

  • A bowl
  • A spoon
  • 2 baking trays lined with greaseproof paper
  • 250g gluten free rice flour – we love Doves Rice Flour
  • A small tin of sardines in sunflower or olive oil – ours was a 95g tin from Lidl (other shops are available)
  • Some fresh parsley – leaves and stalks
  • A desert spoon of cottage cheese
  • Some rapeseed oil
  • Some water

How to make Tillie’s Sardine, Parsley and Cottage Cheese Cookies …

Put the flour in the bowl. Chop in the parsley leaves and stalks and mix again (with the spoon).

Empty the can of sardines with the oil into the bowl with the flour and parsley. Give it a good mix making sure the sardine is well broken up.

Spoon in the cottage cheese and give it a good stir with the spoon.

Add a drizzle of rapeseed oil (about a tablespoon), and stir again, with the spoon.

Knead the yummy ingredients with your paws and add enough water to make a firm but squidgy ball of cookie dough.

Turn the ball of cookie dough out onto a floured surface.

Roll the cookie dough to about the thickness of a round pound coin.

Cut the dough into cookie shapes. We used a bone shaped cutter.

Place the cookies onto a baking sheet lined with baking paper.

Bake the cookies in an oven pre-heated to 180C for 15-20 minutes or until firm to the touch.

When the cookies are firm to the touch, turn the oven off and leave the cookies to cool in the oven. This gives a lovely crunchy cookie.

The healthy stuff …

Sardines are full of Omega 3 fatty acids, are rich in protein and good for helping to maintain healthy coat and skin and bones.

Fresh parsley contains lots of vitamins, minerals and fibre, freshens our breath and is good for our puggies.

Cottage cheese is a good source of calcium and protein. It’s easy to digest and low fat. And it’s creamy. Tillie likes creamy.

Tillie’s Sardine, Parsley and Cottage Cheese Cookies. Delicious. Healthy. Quick and easy. Perfect.

Enjoy!

The end.
