Beef Jerky

Homemade Beef Jerky is easy to make and yummy to eat. We love beef jerky. It’a a really tasty treat. And although this recipe is for beef jerky, you can make jerky with any other meat following the same recipe. We also love lamb and turkey jerky.

What you need to make beef jerky …

  • Beef steaks – the mummy usually buys a packet of scotch beef frying steaks because they are already thinly cut.
  • Non-stick baking parchment.
  • A baking tray or two.

How to make beef jerky …

  • Line a baking tray or two with non-stick baking parchment.
  • Slice the beef into thin slices – about 1 cm wide by 0.5 cm thick.
  • Place on the baking tray.
  • Put into oven.
  • Turn oven on to 60 degree fan.
  • Bake until the jerky is dry and baked to your desired texture – about 2 – 3 hours.
  • Let the jerky cool.
  • Have a wee taste test.
  • Store in a container in the fridge. It will keep for 7 days. But it might not last that long because it is very yummy 🙂

Beef is a great source of protein, vitamin B12, zinc and selenium. And it tastes yummy too.
